First Father’s Day Family Portrait

15 Jun

Wonder of all wonders!  I saw Randall fly to the nest and was able to get a shot of the whole family together. Keep in mind that it’s not the greatest, because I was indoors and shooting through the window. From left to right are baby Francis(es) Dale Mourning Dove, Sophie and Randall.  Randall was only there for less than a minute when Sophie took off.  Perhaps young Francis(es) and Randall will have a little father-child bonding time today.  Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers out there!

edit: June 16th a.m. – As I was looking through the binoculars this morning, I saw not one, but two baby birds.  That Sophie is just full of surprises!  Now we’ll have to come up with a name for the other baby.

    Hi Carol,

It was so good to hear from you. I hope all is well w/ you & your family & the church. You little dove family is adorable :) We have a hummingbird feeder on our front porch & it is so fascinating at times to watch the hummingbirds. They fight each other over who owns the feeder & literally bomb each other…lol So little of a bird & yet has plenty of spunk. Take care & keep intouch. God bless!
    Love,
    Andrea

What a fun event. Sure adds to Father’s Day – somehow makes it a little more special.

Happy Belated Father’s Day to Randall, and congratulations to the happy couple who now have a small brood. On our vacation, we had some stellar bluejays who befriended us. They would come to our deck every morning waiting for handouts. One morning, Mike had forgotten to leave them something. As we were sitting down to eat breakfast, we heard a loud screeching noise on our deck. It was one of the Jays demanding her breakfast. Mike quickly went out and gave her some Sun Chips. Birds are so fun.
