If I Were A Rich Man

fiddler on the roof

Every so often, we need a diversion from the cares of this life and just plain ordinary living. Saturday is a day I’ve been looking forward to, because I will be experiencing just such a diversion.  My family and I, along with my dear mother and our good friends the Kerr’s and their two granddaughters will be going to see the play Fiddler On The Roof.  The last time I went and saw a play like this was B.C.(before children).  One of my favorite songs from this musical is If I Were A Rich Man.  Of course, I’m not a man, but I did find out today that I am a richer girl than I thought I was.  My daughter put in my URL on that little button on Shirley Buxton’s blog that says, “How much is your blog worth?”  When she told me there was an actual dollar amount mentioned, I thought she was pulling my leg, but low and behold, according to whoever figures out how much your blog is worth, mine is worth something now!  Think I should cash in on it?  🙂

All kidding aside though, I really am a rich girl, spiritually speaking that is.

2Co 8:9 For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.

Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in his kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.

What a blessing that Jesus laid down His life, so that not only I, but whosoever will trust in Him and follow Him according to His Word can be rich in His grace and mercy!  So tomorrow, while Tevya is singing If I Were A Rich Man, I’ll know in my heart that whether or not I make a fortune in this world, I’ve found the riches that really count.
