Introspection

pot

A watched pot never boils, it’s been said

and through my observation I have learned

the outcome of another pot instead.

Neglected one most surely will be burned.

Has it been way too long since I’ve been stirred?

Complacent is my current state of soul?

Do I wander, spiritual vision blurred?

Lord, your bestirring, let it be my goal.

This earthen vessel often must be changed

and challenged to become much more like Thee.

My stinking thinking must be rearranged.

Let holy agitation move through me.

Whate’er it takes, don’t let me stay the same.

Shake me by your Word, in Jesus’ dear name.

2Timothy 1:6  Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.

2Peter 3:1,2  This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

  1. Personal reflections on your country. Its been a long time sine I wrote such elaborate things to you. I assume you must be busy. Anyhow, I just came to know that there were shootings in rural California, mass shootings. Though you have hospitals for dogs, you also have people who kill other people as if they are dogs. My perception about your country had been undergoing a change. But one day, we all will leave this worst place called Earth and we will be on our Father’s home, Heaven. I believe it. And it gives me the means to continue to be happy.

    1. Hello Jay. Yes, things in America are getting worse, and it is definitely not the same country of my childhood. It is all a result of sin. There is no perfect country on this earth, and I too look forward to that day of seeing Jesus and forever being in that place where sin can never enter.
