The Original Lie

The Ongoing Original Lie

“Ye shall not surely die.”

Throughout history, satan’s lie.

But we always lose, never win,

by becoming entangled in sin.

Go ahead. Give the world a try.

“Ye shall not surely die.”

But sin, disguised as a thriller,

is in truth, a treacherous killer.

Just partake of that fruit one time.

Surely that can’t be a crime!

“Ye shall not surely die”

is the devil’s alluring cry.

When satan whispers in your ear,

be warned, it is to set a snare.

That grand fib we must deny.

“Ye shall not surely die.”

Genesis 3:4  And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

3:5  For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.

3:6  And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.

Ezekiel 18:4  Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

1John 2:15  Do not love or cherish the world or the things that are in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in him.

1John 2:16  For all that is in the world–the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one’s own resources or in the stability of earthly things]–these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].
