My Husband’s Birthday

Yesterday, the 3rd was my wonderful husband’s birthday.  It’s hard to believe he turned 49 and that later this year, we will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary.  We were home during the day, but in the evening, we drove about 40 minutes to Benicia to meet some friends of ours who pastor in Oregon and were up visiting family.  It was a beautiful night, and since we got there a little early, we took a stroll down to Benicia’s beautiful waterfront.  Below are some pictures from birthday by the Bay.

  1. Wonderful photos! Thanks for sharing.
    Where’d you eat?
Happy belated birthday to your husband.
    Love you!

Hi Tena. We ate at a little place called First Street Cafe. We went there once before and signed up for their birthday club. They sent my husband a postcard in the mail, good for a free dinner, so we decided to use it. One of their appetizers, the artichoke and crab dip, was featured in Bon Appetit magazine a few years ago. Their food is very good. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

  2. Happy Belated Birthday to your husband. Benicia has a beautiful waterfront, and your pictures truly do it justice. We used to go there antiquing when we lived in the Bay area.

  3. Have the babies hatched?

As far as I can tell, they haven’t hatched yet, but the mother bird seems a little antsy. I think it will be soon.

  4. We got Pete’s e-mail of thanks (which he sent to many) for the birthday wishes. So now we know why you weren’t home when we tried to call to sing our beautiful birthday song. The artichoke dip sounds good. Mom especially has been getting into artichokes. The last few times at the store, we’ve bought a small jar of the marinated artichoke hearts. They’re pretty good. That Pete! He da man of de hour!

  5. Palm trees! I’m jealous…we aren’t having very good weather here and I would love to be ANYWHERE that there are palm trees!

    Happy Birthday to your Hub!
