We had such a wonderful move of the Holy Ghost in our service yesterday. Though we were few in number, the presence of God was there in a way I have not felt in a long time. It was beautiful to see Bell with tears coming down her face, speaking in tongues. It seemed like God was just really working in everyone that was present there. Sometimes it is so refreshing just to weep in the presence of the Lord, and we did a lot of that. After my husband had dismissed the service, there was still a lingering presence of the Lord, and some of us were still hanging around the sanctuary, seeking Him and giving Him praise. My daughter Jen, who had really been praying hard and crying suddenly started laughing. Well, something(or I should say Someone)got ahold of me, and I started laughing too. I laughed so hard, I even snorted once! Now some of you that are reading this might think that I’m nuts. I am. I am nuts about Jesus! Nobody knows how to give joy like He can! Our church has been going through some tough times the past few weeks, but I feel like God is encouraging and equipping us to be able to go out and reap a harvest of souls. Bring it on, Jesus. I’m ready. 🙂

Oh those are the extra special moments. The moments when you just don’t to leave. You just want to linger and bask in the Spirit of the Lord. This post reminds me of the song where it says something like this: He could’ve brought life that would’ve been enough. He could’ve brought joy that would’ve been enough. He could’ve brought peace that would’ve been enough but he put laughter into my soul.

I love those “lingering” altar services. That’s when special experiences from God come. Our church has been having some of those lately, too, and I LOVE it!
What popped out to me in your post here was: your daughter getting a special blessing. Ohhhhh…the joy in our hearts as mothers when we see God giving a special blessing to our children! There’s NO GREATER JOY than to hear that my children walk in truth! I pray before every service that God will do something powerful for my boys and touch them so they are not the same as when they came.
Oh, the peace to know our children love God and want to live for Him more than any other life. “Thank You, Jesus”!

Yes, Tena. I agree. It is beautiful to see our children touched by the Lord. They need to develop their own walk with the Lord, and services like the one I described are a big help in that area.
Sis, I too love those services where God’s presence is so deep and rich like that. It makes me think of a Sandi Patti song called “In His Hands”. The words go: “In His hands, there’s only safety, nothing there can touch you except Him. Bring your burdens and all your failures, lay them down to rest here in His hands. When God touches me like that, I feel like I’m in a warm, secure place and that nothing can touch me or hurt me. I’m just basking in the glow of His nearness, and all is well. A good verse can be applied here: And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; (Eph 5:18). You never know what exactly will happen when filled with the Spirit. It’s the Spirit that giveth life, isn’t it?
