When God Came To Earth

God came to earth and dwelt among man

A body of flesh had He

This truth among generations does span

It’s Bethlehem’s mystery.

A body of flesh had He

The Lord of lords, sweet heaven’s King

It’s Bethlehem’s mystery

Of whom the herald angels sing.

The Lord of lords, sweet heaven’s King

Oh how God did condescend

Of whom the herald angels sing

He stooped way down to be your friend.

Oh how God did condescend

This truth among generations does span

He stooped way down to be your friend

God came to earth and dwelt among man!

  1. Greetings. Such a great salvation through Jesus Christ. That God who is from everlasting (a truth that is beyond us in and of itself) came into this world in a body of flesh; enduring such a contradictions of sinners against himself to redeem us from eternal death. WOW! Thanks for the reflection and reminder to always be mindful that we are bought with a price.
Have a blessed evening in Christ.

    Hi Timbob,

Yes, God certainly paid a dear price to bring about redemption. I love to think about the incarnation of God, because it amazes me and humbles me at the same time. It’s a grand theme not just at Christmas but all year long! Thanks for stopping by.

  2. From mom: Thank you Carol for reaching into our hearts with that message—not only for those who are saved but those who don’t know the Lord too.

From Tom: Good poem, Carol. You have “the gift.”

  3. Treasures like knowing who god is, and the gift of his spirit, that he gives to those that ask of him, that truely seek him, is the mane reason to be alive, and then he gives eteral life! Thank you lord Jesus, Aman

  4. God also came to earth when He came to give Moses the Ten Commandments. The people of Israel were consecrated by Moses before God came in the clouds.

    1. Hi David. Yes, I know in the O.T. when the children of Israel were being led by Moses that God was with them as a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night. In the poem that I wrote, I was referring to the incarnation; God manifesting Himself in the flesh. When you stop to think about it, it is really awesome that the Almighty God would condescend to take on the form of a man so that He could reach out to us. That’s love!
