To The Journey’s End

To The Journey’s End

O Lord God of power and might,

Your Word is true.  Your judgments are right.

Feeling Your presence is such delight.

My spirit soars upward like a kite.

A fire in my soul, You do ignite.

I pray that it will always burn bright.

Help me continue to fight the good fight,

To live holy and righteous in Your sight

Until the day that I take my flight

To that city where there is never a night!

2Chronicles 20:6  And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?

John 17:17  Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

Psalm 19:9  The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

Psalms 16:11  Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

1Timothy 6:12  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

Titus 2:12  Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

Revelation 22:5  And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

Revelation 21:23  And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.

  1. A very encouraging post as we continue to press forward. Our salvation is indeed nearer than when we first believed.
Have a blessed day in Christ

    Hi Timbob,

Thanks for stopping by, and may you have a wonder filled day too!

  2. Good Poem Sissy. Reminds me of the words to that song: “To the journey’s end led by a faithful Friend never more in sin to roam. By the way called Straight, we will reach that golden gate of the soul’s eternal home. I can’t remember the name of the song though.

The song is called I Have Found The Way.

  3. Another verse: “I will never fear while Jesus is so near. I will bravely reach the goal. Happy songs I’ll sing in honor to the King and to Glory onward go.”
    Great Poem, Carol.
