The shy, young eighth grader had just finished an assignment for her English class. She had been studying different poets, and her assignment was to write her own original poem about any subject. Feeling isolated and rejected from the popular girls at school, she decided to write a poem about her perception of these snooty creatures. Her poem was entitled, "Conceited Lasses". In retrospect, it really was a somewhat cold and unkind poem, but this first writing opened up a door for her and gave her a vehicle whereby she could express all kinds of feelings and thoughts that she had kept locked up inside of her. She continued writing poetry as she entered her highschool years. At the age of 16, she had an encounter with God that changed her life. She made a committment to God that she would try to use her writing to bring glory to God and help other people. Hello everyone! I'm Carol, a pastor's wife, homeschooling mom, lover of life and one who enjoys writing. This is my story. Since that first poem in 8th grade, I've written many other poems, skits, puppet shows, short stories, letters, etc., and have thoroughly enjoyed doing it. A friend introduced me to the concept of blogging not too long ago, so I thought I would give it a try. Please feel free to make yourself right at home, while I "write at home." Blessings, Carol Connell

Bravo, ‘Lynnie!
It’s great to see the legacy continue in young Puyallup with his space-age poems. My FAVE is still the Pope on a Rope poem, but of course I haven’t read all of them. So when is your collected works volume hitting a Borders near me?

Welcome to the Blog World! If you click on my name you can come on over to Homeschoolblogger, where I’ve kept my blog for over a year! The kids are complaining when I’m down in the “Blogs” . . . and DH has to wait for his supper . . . Blog Away! Why pay a penny for your thoughts, when I can read them for FREE!

Bovvy,
Tu blagues, bien sur! Thanks for visiting my new site. My FAVE of yours is Called To The Job. Do you still have a copy of it? I know I do somewhere, but I’m not sure where that somewhere is. Anyhow, I hope you have a terrific Thursday.
Love,

Krissy,
Thanks for visiting my blog. I know you had told me a while ago that you were blogging, and I actually went back yesterday trying to find the e-mail that had your link. “DH”? Does that stand for darling husband? You sure have done a lot on your blog. It looks great. Pray for this rookie.
Love,
Carol

Yes, “DARLING” is a much better word!
I always read the blogs as
DH is my “Dear Husband”
DD(4) is my “Dear Daughter, age 4″
DS’s(7&9) is code for “Dear Sons, ages 7 and 9″
Sort of a bit of protection for all of us out here surfing in the world wide web, I guess.
FYI you may refer to me as your SIL . . . now isn’t that “silly?”
BTW I like how your blog posts where the most recent comments have been made . . . how’d ya do that?
Love,
Your DSIL
